Breast MRI
Breast MRI, which produces highly detailed images of the breast tissue is frequently used to determine whether or not an area of concern is cancerous, thereby avoiding unnecessary biopsies. Breast MRI does not however take the place of traditional breast cancer screening methods. This exam is also used to check for leakage or rupture of breast implants.
Breast MRI is used to investigate breast concerns first detected via mammography, physical exam, or other imaging tests. It can successfully image problematic conditions like dense breasts and implants. MRI is also useful for staging breast cancer, helping to determine the most appropriate treatment, and for patient follow-up after breast cancer treatment.
RAS was the first imaging provider to offer dedicated breast MRI and MRI-guided breast biopsy. For patients, this means seamless access to the latest technology with no need for inconvenient offsite appointments. As the highest volume provider of breast MRI in the area, it also means that women can rest assured their care is in the hands of experts. RAS, as the leader in women's diagnostic health, uses emerging technologies that may not be available elsewhere.
If our expert team of radiologists and technologists determine that, in addition to mammography, further breast imaging tests are necessary, our two flagship Breast Imaging Centers have the capability to perform these tests without delay, providing added peace of mind and convenience to our patients.
For certain high risk women, and women with dense breasts, RAS now offers new 3-D breast imaging technology.
